Mother's Day

With Mother's Day around the corner I had to get making a few cards. One for my momma, best friend's mom, and my mother in law. I couldn't make them to extravagant because well they have to be put into envelopes and mailed out of state.
I wanted to make them special, simple, and pretty, oh and yes unique! Just like the mothers they are for. I took their favorite colors and used that as my base idea.
I think I did a pretty good job of personalizing, making it special and keeping it simple!
Mom card #1- for my momma
I used my Cricut and 2 different cartridges. The card base is a card cut from Close to My Heart's very own Art Philosophy cartridge (700+ cuts!). The silhouette of the tree and bird is a cut from Cindy Loo cartridge. Cardstock is Close to My Heart Colonial White and Smokey Plum. It has an all over shimmer because I took some a CTMH spritzer pen with alcohol, a few drops  of CTMH Amethyst re-inker, and a pea size drop of CTMH Create-a-Shade Pearl paint and spritzed over both pieces separably. I then took a small piece of sponge and blotted CTMH Amethyst ink (from the pad) and blotted the edges of the card. I adhered the silhouette to the front with my small CTMH Bonding Memories- Dual Action Glue Pen (worked well for the tiny areas  on the leaves/branches). It looked really good at this point but it still seemed to be missing something. I spotted my CTMH Bitty Opaques pearls and thought that would work great for the finishing touch; so I put them on each of the scalloped edges on the card.

Mom card #2- for my bestfriend's mom
This mother's favorite color is pink so I  thought I would use CTMH Lucy papers. I used my Cricut and CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut the card. I also utilized the extra heart piece(distressed the edges of it with Blush ink) that came out of the card window. I used CTMH Joyful Jar stamps and a small tag (also Art Phil. Cart.). I stamped and cut out the jar. The tag is free swinging connected to the jar by CTMH Grey Wool Baker's Twine. I had used CTMH liquid glass to adhere the twin to the jar so it will stay for sure. I also add a line of liquid glass where the shine is on the jar and many little dots on the hearts inside for more dimension.  The CTMH ink colors used were: Blush, Grey Wool, and Creme Brulee

Mom card #3- for my mother in-law
Her color is the same as my mom but I didn't want to make them the same card so I went a whole 'nother route. They are all unique special women so I had to make them their each special card!
I used the Art Phil. cart. to cut the card base from Colonial White stock. Scouring through my stamps for one that just "felt right" to me I spotted my Happy Moments set and knew this was the one to use! I did the center flower stamp with Gypsy and did the small ones on the scallops in Pansy Purple. It still needed lots of character so I dug into my "not CTMH " (I like to keep them separate) and found my purple roses and they matched the Gypsy color perfectly!  Ok, it's looking better but still needing some extra oomph...I know...SPARKLES! Inside the big stamped image I placed some Bitty Sparkles. Also made some dots of Liquid Glass to the dots on the big stamp image. Looks pretty good and can be passable at this point but I still wasn't quite done sooo I added Bitty Opaque Pearls in the centers of the flowers in the scalloped edges. And the final finishing touch was distressing the edge of the card using Gypsy.

Use it or lose it CTMH: Inchies challenge

Well this is the first time I have heard of inchies since I am pretty new to the scrapbooking worlds terms. Inchies are 1 inch squares hence the name inchies and I had to ask to make sure it was only squares lol
Since my mommy's birthday is coming up I thought I'd make her a birthday card since I had quite a bit of purple scraps (purple is her favorite color)
I am thinking of adding a little bow by the button on the flap.

Not feeling so hot

I've got a sinus cold kicking my butt. It's been making me really exhausted and tired, Yet I can't seem to sleep well. I tried to start working on a blog train but seemed to have no motivation for it. I may try again today after I had some RedBull. I do plan on playing some in PsP so I may even get a little freebie done for you all to have. I'm thinking of doing Friday Freebies and giving you all a freebie every Friday...some may even be kits!

Hi all

I'm going to challenge myself and do a blog post everyday, some will have freebies. I noticed that I don't blog as much as I should. Since I do have a blog why not use it?!
Well today I am having my ItWorks! launch party. ItWorks! is a wonderful company that has amazing products! One of my favorite products is the Ultimate Body Applicator wrap. In as little as 45 minutes you can tone tighten and firm trouble areas. My first wrap it took off 1 1/2 inches off my belly and my skin texture is amazing now. Even my stretch marks are fading. My other favorite product is the Defining Gel. Wowwee that stuff is amazing! The 2nd time applying it to my legs I noticed a huge difference in my cellulite. It works great on toning and firming the belly as well. My hubby sees the great results and sees how happy it makes me, he is now getting his own bottle of Defining Gel!
ItWorks has weight loss/control products as well as facial treatments, anti wrinkle, and health supplements! You can check it out here: ItWorks!

First layout using NEW products!

This page I'm very pleased with how it turned out. I used our new Florentine papers and coordinating products. Florentine is in the new Spring/Summer 2012 catalog.
I used a picture of my grandpa, grandma and mom when she was a little girl. As soon as I saw the Florentine papers I just loved the antique look and thought of this picture automatically.

used the Colonial White Collection ribbon (Autumn/Winger 2011), the metal plates are Timeless Charms (Spring/Summer 2012), the little button is part of Bohemian Assortment (Spring/Summer 2012)

My Acrylix Pemberley Workshop stamp set (Spring/Summer 2012) in Goldrush and Olive ink, edges distressed with Chocolate distressing ink.

Family Love My Acrylix stamp set (Spring/Summer 2012) in Indian Corn Blue distressed with Chocolate distressing ink

Urban Alphabet stamp set (Spring/Summer 2012) in Indian Corn Blue distressed with Chocolate distressing ink. Lace flower from Bohemian Assortment (Spring/Summer 2012)

Christmas card ( I know late posting...)

This is a card that I had made for a friend using CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and coordinating stamps also used Holiday Wishes and the Oct Stamp of the Month: Holiday Magic from Autumn/Winter 2011. The tree was accented with Bitty Sparkles and a few dots using Liquid Glass. This is technically my first card. very simple and cute.
